MULTIPLE DISABILITIES is a Federal Category under which children may be eligible for Special Education Services.
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) defines Multiple Disabilities as number of identifiable disabilities, the combination of which causes such severe educational needs that they cannot be accommodated in special education programs solely for one of the disabilities; this does not include children who are deaf-blind.
