During her undergraduate career, Krista taught Psychological Research: Statistics and Methods I and II to undergraduate psychology students as a Teacher’s Assistant (TA). She was also a Research Assistant and Psychology Scholar, working on publications with professors and assisting in lab work and research. During her graduate studies, Krista was an active researcher who was particularly involved in conducting research on ADHD in adolescents and its effect on their parents. Krista, along with a team of professors and graduate students, pre
sented research findings at national conferences such as the National Association of School Psychology (NASP) Conference in New York City and Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHAAD) Conference in Washington DC. An article was subsequently published based on the research in the NASP Communiqué in September 2008. The article was entitled “Partnering With Parents of Special Needs Students: Barriers to Collaboration.”

She has extensive experience and training working with individuals with disabilities. She has worked with children and families of different backgrounds and abilities for over 10 years. She has a thorough and in depth approach to identifying children’s strengths and weaknesses through numerous forms of assessment including cognitive, neurological, academic, social, behavioral, emotional, and functional evaluations. The results of these in-depth evaluations have aided her in creating comprehensive plans that help optimize each child’s social, emotional, behavioral, and academic functioning. She has a deep understanding of intelligence factors/abilities, disabilities, and differentiated instruction. She has also provided individual and group counseling, as well as social skills instruction in the school setting. She is particularly skilled in teaching perspective taking, theory of mind, and social thinking. Her use of Michelle Garcia Winner’s curriculum has greatly enhanced this instruction. Consultation and collaboration with parents, teachers, school administrations, and outside agencies is also an asset of hers.
