Michael DiGennaro, MA

Michael DiGennaro MEd is a certified School Counselor in both New York and Connecticut.  He has worked with children of all ages, as a school counselor in both private and public schools. Making the transition to ADA in 2015, he continues is work with children with a home-based approach to therapy and counseling. 

Mr. DiGennaro received his master's degree in education from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 1990. Since then he has worked in a variety of settings with students of all ages. He served in the role of School Counselor at both Irondequoit Public Schools and the Canandaigua Public Schools for a combined 20-years. Mr. DiGennaro then consulted in a variety of school boards, including Irvington, Harrison and Mamaroneck, NY Public Schools, as well as the Trumbull, CT Public Schools, all before joining ADA Therapy.

It's this experience that has helped him work with children in all aspects of their lives. As a counselor in collaboration with other educational professionals, Michael started working with students with disabilities and differences and his commitment to helping them realize their potential and meet or exceed academic standards with consideration for both the strengths and challenges resulting from disabilities and other special needs. He continues to work with students of special needs and help them better navigate life’s challenges. 

In addition to his academic and professional background Mr. DiGennaro has extensive experiencing with coaching, mentoring and advising young adults. He is passionate about education, life and hopes to make a difference in as many students' lives as possible. Michael enjoys spending time with family and friends, sports, movies and traveling. Nothing fulfills Michael more than helping his students plan their life after high school.
